B.Sc. Computer Science

B.Sc. Cybersecurity

Recent advancements in computing, networking, and the internet necessitate reliable and secure digital information exchange in crucial domains like banking, healthcare, and infrastructure management. The expanding use of technology raises the risk of cyber-attacks, creating a demand for skilled professionals to prevent and defend against them. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of talent to meet this global need, with organizations searching for qualified experts to safeguard their systems. This program focuses on equipping students with knowledge and skills to mitigate cybersecurity threats, gather evidence, and enhance computer and system security. Graduates comprehend the impact of cybercrime and implement effective security practices in various domains.

B.Sc. Information Technology

The global demand for Information Technology specialists is rising, driving the efficiency and productivity of businesses and non-business organizations. Information Technology has the potential to optimize operations, ensuring uninterrupted functioning and increased value. This degree program aims to cultivate Information Technology graduates equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to manage computing infrastructure, support users, and elevate productivity for enhanced business outcomes.

Eligibility Criteria

Scored > 180 in UTME. Secondary Education. 5 O’ Level/equivalent Credits.
  • Should have scored 180 and above in UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
  • Applicants should have completed secondary education with a minimum of five (5) O’ Level/equivalent credits in English, Mathematics, and Physics, in one sitting.

Applying to NUTM

  1. Candidates can start their application here. Fill out all forms honestly and accurately and click the submit button to finalise submission..
  2. New applicants must complete a “Correction of Data - Change of Institution” form on the JAMB Portal or through the JAMB accredited CBT Centers.
  3. Successful applicants will be contacted and invited for an interview to complete the admission process.

Minimum Program Duration

The minimum duration of computing programs is four (4) academic sessions or eight (8) consecutively-run semesters for candidates who enter through the UTME Mode.

During the program duration, students will study in six areas of

  • Basic Sciences (e.g., Mathematics and Physics)
  • Computing (e.g., Programming, Artificial Intelligence)
  • General Studies (e.g., English, Culture, Philosophy)
  • Entrepreneurship (e.g., Innovation, Venture Creation)
  • Professional (Critical Thinking, Problem-solving, etc)
  • Student Industrial Work Experience (SIWES)

Fees

  • Tuition - N2m per Academic Year
  • Accommodation only - N500k per Academic Year

Dates

This being the first year of the undergraduate program of the University, all students would be expected to to effect their "Change of University" form on the JAMB portal.

The academic year will begin at the Apapa University Campus (6 Freetown Road, Apapa).

All students will be expected to resume with a laptop.
