The NUTM team hosted delegates of the Lagos State Government (LASG) who paid a courtesy visit to the NUTM campus on January 22, 2021.
The delegates present included Ms. Solape Hammond, Special Adviser, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Investments, and Mr. Tubosun Alake, Special Adviser, Innovation and Technology. The courtesy visit was part of activities to welcome the founding class of the NUTM Scholars Program (NSP) who resumed on-campus learning on January 3, 2021. In a session with the Scholars, the delegates answered questions about how the Lagos state government is supporting technology entrepreneurs and enabling the development of a sustainable technology industry.
The delegates also spoke about policies that have been implemented by the administration to ensure that young innovators thrive in the State. They assured the Scholars of the government's willingness to provide support where necessary and encouraged them to leverage available resources.
In her remarks, NUTM Director of Project Management, Oghogho Ayanru said, "We are delighted to receive delegates of LASG to our state-of- the-art campus. LASG is a strong supporter of NUTM and we are optimistic that the experience of this visit will further demonstrate what is possible, especially through collaboration and a commitment to excellence. We believe NUTM is a veritable partner in the journey to transform Lagos State and indeed Nigeria into the leading center of excellence for technology and innovation in Africa."
The delegates were taken on a tour of the NUTM campus led by members of the team.
