The Nigerian University of Technology and Management (NUTM) has launched applications for the Class of 2022 of the NUTM Scholars Program (NSP), its flagship postgraduate program.
The NSP is a year-long, full-time interdisciplinary program in Technology, Entrepreneurship and Design that aims to nurture young and exceptional individuals from diverse backgrounds across Nigeria and Africa.
Led by a global faculty, the NSP adopts a unique learning model with a multi-track curriculum and experiential learning modules. The program also allows Scholars to gain first-hand experience from senior leaders in a six-week internship called Shadow a Leader.
Launched in 2020, the founding class of the NSP commenced classes on January 3, 2021 with 58 Scholars picked from 1,650 eligible applicants. The Scholars were chosen for their potential to drive impact, solve challenges and create sustainable solutions for Africa and the world.
Speaking on his experience, 2020-21 NSP Scholar, Ibrahim Nureni said, "NUTM is a home for therapeutic innovations in light of technology and management; it is a cutting-edge university that re-engineers one's mind and proffers needed platforms to solve Africa's pressing challenges."
"One of my favourite aspects of the NSP is the TEDLab - a whetstone-like course that practically aims to solve Africa's economic, social, medical and political issues", Nureni added.
The application deadlines for the NSP Class of 2022 are March 15, April 25 and June 1, 2021.
